Should I be putting silicone tape on my wrinkles? With the caveat that you look wonderful just as you are, silicone tape does seem to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and help reduce scarring. There are plenty more caveats around products like this that go viral on TikTok, though.

For starters, there isn’t a huge amount of research out there and what there is tends to focus on scars rather than wrinkles. Most dermatologists also say that the effects are short-lived (maybe as little as an hour for crow’s feet).

And finally, assuming tape does work, nobody’s really sure how, although it may be as simple as restricting the movement of facial muscles and trapping moisture in the skin.
