Amphibians
Amphibians are cold-blooded animals that begin their life in water but go on to spend their life both in water and on land. They are small vertebrae that typically undergo metamorphosis and transform from larvae with gills to adults with lungs, although some types of amphibian rely solely on their skin for respiration. Species such as frogs, toads, salamanders and newts are examples of amphibians. A moist environment is necessary for their survival.
