The internet has become the foundation of modern day society, but was invented not long ago in the 1970s, and has evolved a lot since then. This global network infrastructure connections computers globally electronically, wirelessly and optically. Not to be confused with the World Wide Web, which is a group of webpages found on the network of computers that make up the internet.
