Hermine Mkrtchyan
Dr Hermine Mkrtchyan is a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences at the University of East London. She has substantial expertise in bacterial resistomes and global dissemination of antimicrobial resistance and its transmission between humans, livestock and environmental microbiomes. She has studied reservoirs of antibiotic resistance within public areas in London and is interested in determining how they develop and what sources they originate from. Her research has also tracked resistant bacteria strains in hospitals and hotels, particularly those belonging to the Staphylococcus family.
