The electromagnetic radiation given off by mobile phones is expressed by their specific absorption rate (SAR). It’s a measure of the power of the radiation absorbed by a given mass of body tissue – in other words, your head. SAR values for handsets are easy to find online (take a look atwww.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/sar.htm). The lowest I’ve managed to identify is the Samsung X830 with a SAR of 0.119. The average is around 0.75.
