Why did the chemist cross the road?

BBC Four seeks the answer to this teaser and more in a new show called ‘Some Scientists Telling Jokes’.

If you’re a scientist and you have a joke to tell, the producers would love to hear from you. The idea is simple: it’s scientists telling jokes. They don’t need to be new or even about science, although they are looking for some impenetrable physics gags. They don’t even have to be clean – the jokes, that is, not the scientists.

A spokesperson told Focus, “The show is part of a series whose main aim is to celebrate the rich tradition of joke telling in Britain. We also think it will be fun to see if scientists tell the same sort of jokes as vicars and whether geordies tell jokes differently than scousers.”
The programme will be shooting on 18 October and they’ll even pay travel expenses. Contact geniusjokes@bbc.co.uk if you’re interested in taking part.

So why did the chemist cross the road? To see what reaction he’d get, of course.
