Very interesting article on one scientist plans to "reactivate" dinosaur DNA in birds. This is a short quote from the article.

LiveScience: Starting with a chicken, how close could we really get to what a dinosaur looked like?

Horner: We're working with an animal that has all the right stuff. It's more about subtle changes, adding a tail or fixing a hand or possibly adding teeth, what we would think of as being relatively simple changes rather than messing with physiology or something like that.

One question remains unanswered though. Does this mean that Dinosaurs also taste like chicken?

The study of how DNA stores the blueprint that creates an organism, and the existence of innactive coding from the evolutionary past is fascinating. I expect, as we learn more in this field, it will tell us quite as much about earlier life as fossils have done. This sounds familiar, havn't we discussed this article before?

Anyhow, I believe that feathered dinosaur muscle proteins are structurally homologous to turkeys, so they may very well taste very similar.

Here's something interesting on the subject. A Harvard scientist has managed to reverse evolution in a chicken, giving it a snout rather than a beak.

Apparently, chickens are the closest living relatives to T Rex, so here's hoping he doesn't reverse it all the way
