MORE than a dozen new species of sea sponge have been discovered in waters dubbed Wales’ version of the Great Barrier Reef.
It is one of the only (sic.) locations where both northern and southern hemisphere species can thrive.
And researchers, who spent three years surveying the UK’s sea sponges, found 13 new sponge species in Skomer Marine Nature Reserve off the north Pembrokeshire coast.
