funny thing spiders /\/\/\/\/\(OO)/\/\/\/\/\. :) Once i was having a converstaion with Mrs N when she shouted look at the size of that spider omg get rid of it, (she was in bed at the time ) i pointed out to her at that i was 120 miles away and talking to her on the phone, so what she exactly expected me to do i didn't know, she replied kill it, again i pointed out that i was 120 miles away on the phone she still insisted i kill it so i told her to stay were she was id be round in about 2 1/2 hrs to my amazment she said ok

i thought it looked like a daddy longlegs but apparently it not from the pictures ive compared yours with it indeed looks like a cellar spider we have had 3 huntsman spiders in the banana's at work over the past week which is pretty unusual in itself.

Well I went into the cellar and found a big cellar spider, looks exactly like the photo and even shook the web violently when i poked it!

however the ones in my lounge are smaller with smaller rice shaped abdomens and yellower? could they just be youngens?

Alas we must be logged in to view such or have one of those nasty social networking profiles.

Anyhoo spiders have eight, must have eight or it is not an arachnid. With six it could be what I know as a harvestman which kind of resembles a spider, but its not.
Hope is but the first step upon the road to disappointment.

Also spiders do lose legs from time to time, regrowing them over time if food is plentiful. ;)

Handsome looking devil though.

Yes, I managed to grasp that much Jamie.

I was wondering which type and with what lens, as photographing bugs is a rather difficult trick to pull off successfully.
Although given the way technology is going it could easily be some budget pocket camera for all I know. ;)

never give up, I got bored/ gave up on photography after the birth of digital technology.. it became so esy and readilly available that it lost its appeal..

I thought well I can snap 100 shots and delete the 99 rubbish ones... thus negating any actual needed talent for taking the 'right' shot on a 36 exp. film.

however, availability and what not doesnt make people any more creative, its all in the eye, not the equipment!

We seem to have trodden very similar paths Liam, and yes I agree creativity is far more important than technical brilliance. ;)
