Dear forum user,

You’ll notice http://www.bbcfocusmagazine.com has a fresh new look and is bursting at the seams with more content than ever before. As with the old site, the forum is taking centre stage.

However, while the team have transferred your forum accounts to the new site, what can’t be transferred are your individual passwords.

Don’t worry... To login please request a new password by entering your email address on this page: http://www.bbcfocusmagazine.com/user/password.

If you have any problems, please email onlinehelpdesk@originpublishing.co.uk

Also, please note that all new accounts require manual moderator / admin approval in order to prevent misuse by people and spam bots. This means that new accounts will not be able to post or create topics until they have been cleared. Approving will happen as soon as is possible so please be patient, especially if you live in areas significantly behind or ahead of GMT, your account will be approved if legitimate but it is not an instantaneous process.

Just an update.... albeit a bit belated one, sorry.

Thanks to the tireless effort of one Michel (of the root_admin department) things should be staring to run a little more smoothly on here.

The forum has been thoroughly tested live and if anyone has experienced problems during this period I can only apologise for not having warned you sooner, that was down to me, and I was elsewhere.

Basically "it was a matter of resetting everyone’s username to their original one, and getting rid of all the NULL NULL users. Any new users shouldn’t be affected anyway." :)

A tip for anyone who keeps having to log back in every time you change pages or so much as blink (its annoying I know as it happened to me) try dumping your browser cache (Tools> Options> Privacy and check the private data box then in advanced uncheck the accessibility boxes) this seems especially important if you are using Firefox or similar freeware.
And this just in, some of the earlier cookies can cause problems so delete the lot as any new ones needed will reload anyway.

It works for me. ;)

Hope that helps. Any problems you can contact me direct at mp.lloyd@btinternet.com and I will see what I can do. :)

Hi all, re the on-going problems with accessing the Forum. I have been in touch with the root admin and I have been asked to suggest to check your browsers as they may be set to prevent cookies, or some other security issues may exist that need resolving. It has also been suggested (by the root admin) that those affected try using the “Delete all board cookies” link, as below, to delete all relevant cookies and then try again.

ucp.php?mode=delete_cookies

If that doesn't resolve the issues could you please let us know what browser you are using, which OS, which page you were visiting, etc and hopefully this can be used to trace the problem more accurately.

Rest assured we are doing our best to sort this out as quickly as possible.

Also, please note that all new accounts require manual moderator / admin approval in order to prevent misuse by people and spam bots.
