Why doesnt light slow down? :roll:

light does slow down depending what medium it is travelling through.

It does indeed depend on what medium it is passing through '...' aka j1957 :D in point of fact light has even been stopped dead in its tracks in laboratory experiments. ;)

i imagine its like, say a certain car running at full throttle on good solid blacktop, or tarmac, travels at 100 mph then it runs into a bad road thats all muddy. eventhough its still at full throttle the drag from the mud will slow it down somewhat but then it hits another road of good tarmac and thus speeds up as the drag is lessened.

That would explain if the light had been slowed. But what if the light is stopped dead in its tracks?
