You know, I would accept the idea of time travel with far more enthusiasm if even one single time traveller had bothered to attend the Time Travellers Convention of 2005 http://web.mit.edu/adorai/timetraveler/ (they only held one because that is all you need) and unless some special anti time travel police force is super efficient at stopping all time travel, well they must be a right boring lot. ;)

At the risk of being particularly nerdy — which has never stopped me before — in point of fact it does not have continuity. Voyager is the worst abuser and really where the rot from an over abused plot device sets in, creating a mess from which contradictions spring and eventually insulting the entire Trek canon. Now it is not exactly relevant so if one wishes Mr Nemisis I can splain exactly why it is all wrong over on yon Darkside.

Watched a pretty bad movie the other day where they took one of my favourite childhood cartoons, which usually had epic, interesting & evocative stories and proceed it to leave it on the pile of violated childhood icons along with Indie.

In this movie (which I'm sure took absolutely no creative thought whatsoever to write the story) a car gets dropped something like 15 metres to the ground, then gets cut in half... in half people from nose to bum... and... nothing... not even a hint of a flame or a petrol leak.

I'm not saying there should have been an explosion... I would like some continuity in the movie though...

one minute a feather could land on the car and BOOM! up it goes... providing it belongs to a goon. The hero on the other hand can drive though a hail of gunfire on a segway and come out looking like he's been playing 20 minutes of a sunday leaguer...

I'm pretty much bored of these movies... there needs to be substantial robots and laser beams to be of any merit but Michael Bay is making me re-think my entire movie philosophy!!

Sounds like the A Team problem, loads of guns, thousands of rounds fired and bodies everywhere but not one drop of blood.
Total let down it was. :(

Well.... I always assumed that 'death' was inferred in that bullets were fired (usually from .22 Ruger rim-fires and various home made modifications of nail guns) and people fell down.
It was just the total lack of any liquid red stuff that always made me chuckle.....

Anyway I'm not entirely sure I'm still actually on topic here.

Hmmm, let's see...
(a) attend a conference, or
(b) hit the surf.

If you have time travel you've got to have Priorities, a bit like the Prime Directive, only really smarter.

And why were they called the A-Team? A good special forces unit would be one-shot-one-kill.
A for amateurs?

Yep, I just cannot see why any would think just because they held a conference that were time-travel real, then a traveler would have to show up; many a good reason why no one would show, including that time-travel is not possible.

Excellent Mr.T quote there Mr.S. ;)

On the subject of the Time Travellers Convention, maybe they were all warned off with 'attend at your peril' memos floating throughout all time? :)

Thing is, if time travel were possible surely someone would eventually get curious and poke there nose in?

Or perhaps not, after all it was hardly an auspicious affair, it rained, they had no live band and the buffet consisted of what was in the campus cafeteria and it was booze free bar.

Er........

Although not directly referenced in the series, the name of the show comes from "A-Teams", the nickname for Operational Detachments Alpha (ODA). The US Army Special Forces uses the term ODA for their 12-man direct operations teams (nerdisam again  ;) )

only one person was killed in the whole series but i forget the name ill do a little digging ;)
