New viper snake species found

A new species of brightly coloured snake has been found in a remote area of Tanzania in East Africa.

The striking black-and-yellow snake measures 60 cm (2.1 ft) and has horn-like scales above its eyes.

I personally find it fascinating that we are still discovering new species on our own planet.

Likely to go on, plenty of remote regions virtually untouched and plenty of organisms that are perhaps well known to the locals but they don't have the required knowledge to know it's anything different.

If one considers insects, well there are so many that new species likely inhabit your back garden that will come and go without ever being known.
Hope is but the first step upon the road to disappointment.

Agreed.

However, it is unlikely that any other future discoveries will look as cool as that snake ;)
