The Darkside seems to have been down quite a lot recently Nemesis, I assume its for some form of maintenance but I don't know for certain. :|

Either way this link is working at the point in time.

I hate this new forum...... grrrrrrr
Been on here for years and this sucks. Logon with firefox 3.5.2 and it logs me back off in a few seconds.
Had to use the evil IE8 to post this.

I feel your frustration Doonhamer, truly I do, the new version of Firefox certainly seems less willing to let people on here than the old forum, and even the older version of Firefox isn't brilliant at it, a situation for which I can only apologise most sincerely.

It seems you need to clear your personal data then reset your cache (in tools) and set it so it empties every time you log off. I have no idea why this should be but you could try asking the root admin michelvloon@magazine-services.co.uk and see what they have to say on the matter?

Hi all, re the on-going problems with accessing the Forum. I have been in touch with the root admin and I have been asked to suggest you check your browsers as they may be set to prevent cookies, or some other security issues may exist that need resolving. It has also been suggested (by the root admin) that those affected try using the “Delete all board cookies” link, as below, to delete all relevant cookies and then try again.

ucp.php?mode=delete_cookies

If that doesn't resolve the issues could you please let us know what browser you are using, which OS, which page you were visiting, etc and hopefully this can be used to trace the problem more accurately.

Rest assured we are doing our best to sort this out as quickly as possible. :)

Are the posts on the old forum stored anywhere? If so, would it be possible to have a link to them even if we can't reply... (and if we want to continue an old thread we can just create a new one here)

I'm afraid the account will be closed and the old site shut down Colm.

However, if you are quick have a look here. :o

Phew, just copied the 'Scientists believe in global warming' saga. If anyone wants it, it's a riveting 81-page read :D

I am also on a forum in Reading that replaced it's old forum with a PHP Bulletin Board, I am quite apt at using this, it's a case of what they can not do. It's the members that make these forums. The Focus Magazine forum is as good as the one in Reading I belong to. Just different types of people.

Thanks for that James, and welcome. Lots of good threads are appearing now, with more and more members joining, so the forum is looking a lot healthier than it did a few months back Image

Great site, lots of interesting people and good solid feedback.

I have read about one of your obviously well loved late forum members 'Grey Area' on some parts of this site. I would have liked to have read some of his posts but can't seem to find any? Are they still here on the site somewhere?

Placing some of his posts on a part of this site would have been an additional tribute to the man, as well as the existing dedication of a specific site. If at all possible?

Ah Grey Area, a great loss and sadly his posts predate the great wipe when the old 'Eve' Forum was hacked and all topics deleted.

I possess a unique hard copy of two threads started and produced in book form by one 'Serendipty publishing' (possibly the strangest username ever?) and of course he was part of project Shadowwolf for a while........... but thats a very different story. ;)

Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware of the background.

There are some really bad people about. Who are obviously talented enough to spoil things for other people by hacking but do not have the common sense to actively participate, in something that potentialy, over time, could do something good. By this I mean being better informed, inspiration, communication, making yourself heared, touching our fellow man... Very Sad!

Has someone been messing about with the graphics on this site as the strip ads seem to move down to the base and the easy on the eye look of the forum page has become more complicated and bitty? Unless I have made an error?

Extra gubbins like RSS feeds are being added so you can expect to see new buttons and altered layouts to accommodate these things, might take a bit to get things right but basically there will be change.
Hope is but the first step upon the road to disappointment.

Yes a few changes to the format, nothing to worry about as its all good stuff.

Apologies for any confusion caused, we would have given you all a bit of notice on this but it was rather sprung upon us without warning. ;)
