a bloke at work as told me that scientist can detect potential peadophiles and murders useing there dna! He said he saw a documentary a while bk saying that these 'evil' people have anomalies in there dna that cause them to do these acts! Is this true?

food

why do foods taste so differant? Beef and lamb tast very differant but are both muscles, isn't muscle made from the same nutrients so shouldn't they taste the same? Same with say carrots and potatoes, they have access to the same nutrients in the same soil and have the same amount of water and sun light so why so differant in taste?

Why isn't the standard sheet of paper square?

This may seem like an odd question, but when I came to think about it, the whole rectangle and An, system seems fairly arbitrary. Where did it come from and why?

why not the golden ratio say, or a square? Both seem perfectly valid options...

I finally managed to log back in!

I have a little mystery for you all. Why do nettles catch fire in a microwave?

liquid

can you heat a liquid by stiring it? My thought is that if u whisk up water the molecules are been moved about quickly there bumpinjg into each other causeing friction then heat?
