Focus as a source of new books.

So, do you find the book review pages good for sourcing new reading material?

It's by far and away my biggest source, and am reading Everything is Obvious by Duncan Watts at present. It makes some very interesting points, but seems to get just a little lost in between them, full judgement reserved until I've finished, naturally:

I bought a kindle a few months' ago (and on which I'm reading this), and have definitely passed my technological prime. It feels faintly spooky having a new book downloaded after twenty seconds or so, and I keep hearing Arthur C. Clarke's famous quote about any sufficiently advanced technology being indistinguishable from magic and seeing myself in it...

Not sure I can do a full review. It certainly made me think though, and its examples of why we believe we're far better at predicting and understanding than we really are opens up a slightly different way of viewing things. And recognising the limits of our own abilities seems to me to be a good thing. As is a bit of gentle Malcolm Gladwell bashing...

No worries Mr Twelfth, I think when Mr M said review he meant your general impressions of the tome and not an expectation for a full, detailed essay style review.

Of course if you want to do that anyway feel free ;)
Hope is but the first step upon the road to disappointment.

Yes Mr.S has it in a nut shell. By all means give of your opinion as much or as little as you feel able, it will all be much appreciated. ;)
