eXtinction by Ray Hammond is a book that i have just finished. One of the reasons i read it is because it has a lot to do with some of the topic's that have been on the forum recently, the Global warming and Human evolution topic to name 2.

The basic outline of the book

Its set in the year 2055 Global warming has escalated into a situation where, companies now control our weather via various methods, were countries pay them for there services, they also monitor volcano's earthquakes and other potential natural disasters which they use as an early warning system so areas can be evacuated etc. As an off shoot from the loss of land mass, there are various communities called hulk people that have been forced out in the sea's, on there behalf a lawyer takes up here case to be re homed within the normal populace, with out spoiling the book to much it goes on to the usual disasters happening massive earthquakes tsunamis volcanic eruptions bigger than krakatoa, and the fight that thus ensues between scientist's that have found evidence that, the weather control systems and the escalation of the natural disasters are linked. but the corporate companies and government agency's hide the evidence in there usual ways. below is what is on the back of the book as a taster.

The earths ecosystem is out of control. The seas are rising, crops failing, Humanity is dying out.

The weather control satellites or the ERGIA Corporation are keeping the planet from total meltdown, but only just-and only for those countries that can pay. the rest of the world struggles for survival in a climate chaos that worsens by the day.

Millions have died. Millions more have fled-but time, like space, is running out . As ERGIA hosts a prestigious opening ceremony for its new Moon-base Command Centre, seismic Disruption on earth suddenly increases exponentially. Massive earthquakes spawn mega tsunamis and the world’s volcanic mountain ranges start to erupt in an explosive chain reaction.

Trapped on the moon, visiting world leaders can only watch helplessly as a shroud of fire and ash obscure the earth from view. For now they have escaped, but as their supplies dwindle the survivors realize they must return to earth to save their own lives. By how will they ever get home - and what are they likely to find there. (hope that’s not a copyright infringement  :) )

I enjoyed it the way it's written and the descriptive writings of how the natural disasters and ultimately the demise of the human race was brilliant and is well worth a read :)
In life you make mistakes, but that's life. As long as you learn by the mistakes you make, don't be afraid to make them.
