Most definitely agree with the sceptical goggles bit! And people say my ideas are odd? :?
You probably want to put on your skeptical goggles and set them to maximum for this one. An Italian mathematician has come up with some complex formulae that can, with remarkable similarity, mimic the rotation curves of spiral galaxies without the need for dark matter.

I don't know whether it was the mathematician's intent to do away with all dark matter, or just the effect on rotational speed by said dark matter. After all, there is still a lot more of the calculated universe unaccounted for, the visible accounting for only 15-20%, dark matter 20-25% and dark energy 60-65%.
