Control the weather?
We could never be able to predict the actual outcomes of our tinkering in any chaos system so we would make no difference in that we will still wake up and think "I wonder what the weather is like?" and open the curtains
Fixing Britains Grotty Weather?
I must say that I do not see what the problem is. This is Britain, it gets extremely chilly in winter, and gets unreasonably hot during the summer.
Personaly speaking, I much prefer winter because I get lethargic and tired when it is warm, but when its cold I feel vibrant and ready for anything! In short, I dont think that the weather is a problem, its peoples attitudes to it, and thier apparant weakness and obsession with comfort that is the real problem. I say rather than fix the weather, lets just all grow a backbone. It will cost less money, and have zero environmental effect ! Win win , as they say.
Can we fix Britain's grotty weather?
Tourists from across the globe know about Britain's weather, and when they visit, they usually want to experience Britain. They look forward to some drizzle, and I don't see any reason to take that away from them, or us. Britain's weather is mild, and there is no reason to change it whatsoever.
If it was even possible, we have more pressing concerns right now.
Kate bush to the rescue!!!
What we need is one of those contraptions in kate Bush's video for Cloudbusting. But I feel that changing the weather in this country would cause more extinction of certain species of animal and indeed plants. Are we really this anal about the weather?
Can we or should we?
As technology progresses we will likely find ourselves increasingly able to influence our weather patterns. However should we? We still do not have a full understanding of global weather workings, and we likely won't even when we can effect some measure of influence on weather. Therefore our meddling could have unforeseen consequences, possibly highly detrimental consequences.
There is also the matter of why bother? I think the climate is fine and if I want hotter or colder climes then I will go to those places. If everywhere was the same then not only would it be boring but climate evolved eco-systems would suffer and damage overall diversity.
So it drizzles alot, that beats a chronic lack of rain by a long way.
Can we fix Britains grotty weather
There is the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
I think we need to be very sure that our weather is broken, and to fully understand how it is broken, before we even consider how it might be fixed.
There's another old saying, "Fools rush in where angels fear to tread".
Whether the weather?
Well given that the UK is on much the same latitude as Labrador I rather think we do quite well. Thing is our climate is the price you pay for living somewhere that should be very much colder but benefits from gentle, moist and warm air moving up from the mid Atlantic which unfortunately means it rains a lot.
Anyway I rather like our climate the way it is thanks and I don't see that it needs fixing, goodness knows it could be a whole lot worse and meddling with what we have might just make a right mess of it.
Best left well alone I say.
